The 30 Knots team loves to travel and we therefore understand the urge to find the best kiteboarding destinations everywhere you go. Kiteboarding may be a hobby to some, but to many it is a lifestyle and even an addiction. As our business and pleasure takes us to different destinations, 30 Knots aims to provide you with some detailed reviews on the locations we visit and ride at, based on our first hand experience. So keep checking our pages for updates, as we continue to tick off some of the many places on our kiteboarding bucket list.
St. Petersburg, Florida
St Petersburg is the “have it all” destination for kiteboarders. It’s a lively and fun city with lots of launch sites, clean wind, and flat water making it the perfect recipe for an excellent kiteboard destination. And since St Petersburg is shaped like a peninsula, you can ride in every wind direction!
Cabarete has undoubtedly become one of the Worlds kiteboarding mecca’s, with thousands of watermen and women from around the Globe making the trip each year. Originally a well-known Windsurfing venue, Cabarete embraced the kite scene early and had some of the World’s first teaching facilities.
Known for their laid back vibe and as a vacation destination for fishing, boating and scuba diving, the Florida Keys have clear shallow waters and consistent wind making it an excellent kiteboarding destination. With a tropical climate similar to many Caribbean Islands, the Keys offer a unique Island feel, with all the benefits of being part of a US State.
